Fundraising

RDSSC relies heavily on fundraising in order to keep its programs as affordable as possible for all members. With a small membership and significant costs, such as pool time and paid coaches, it is imperative that all families fully support the club in all its fundraising efforts.

We understand that families have different abilities to meet these obligations and the understanding is that over the course of the year, they will meet their overall obligation to club fundraising.

For fundraisers that involve labour (and/or time etc), the Fundraising Co-ordinator will provide families with the number of shifts required per swimmer, based on tier level, in order to fulfill club commitments. Families are expected to do their best to meet or exceed the required commitment.
For fundraisers that involve selling, it is expected that everyone will participate. If it is determined by the Fundraising Coordinator that it will not negatively affect the overall success of the fundraising campaign, the option MAY be given to the club member to “buy out” of a specific fundraiser at a cost to be determined by the Fundraising Co-ordinator.

Recreation program participants will be asked to participate in a minimum of one fundraising event per season, to be decided upon in consultation between the Recreation Parent Rep and Fundraising Co-ordinator.

Bingos
The club has agreed to work bingos in order to provide sufficient revenues for the operation of the club. The number of bingos to be worked by the club each season will be decided by the Board. The number of bingos to be worked by each family will be dependent upon the tier level they are participating in.
Competitive club members are responsible for working the required number of bingos per swimmer over the budget year (Sept. 1-Aug. 31)

Recreational and Adult Program members are not required to work bingos.

Casinos
All competitive families are expected to volunteer for any casino the club is awarded. The number of shifts required to be filled will be divided equally amongst competitive club members. Recreation club members are welcome to help out if they so desire.
